Modified Activated Carbon as an Effective Hydrogen Adsorbent
نویسندگان
چکیده
Hydrogen adsorption measurements were taken by the weighting method using Sartorius low-pressure microbalance. Experiments conducted at two temperatures: 77.5 and 300 K; adsorbent used was active carbon obtained from wood modified with potassium hydroxide. The porous structure of prior to after modification evaluated based on nitrogen desorption data. Thus, densimetric characteristic modified; structures developed in range micro-, meso- macropores volume hydrogen adsorbed K showed an almost four-fold increase. Modified carbons are found be suitable for applications storage systems.

Adsorption of Chromium ions (VI) and (III) in aqueous solution was investigated using activated carbon prepared from olive wastes, by one step physical activation with steam. After adsorbent material characterization using adsorption capacity of methylene blue, iodine and phenol, BET surface area, Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy, pHpzc, surface functions based on the Boehm m...
متن کاملHighly-ordered Metal-modified Mesoporous Carbon Nitride: As a Novel Hydrogen Adsorbent
Development of hydrogen-fueled vehicles can bring economic and environmental benefits through decreased use of oil, and, consequently, a decrease in air pollution and other greenhouse gases.1 However, one of the most important drawbacks of the use of hydrogen as a fuel is that it has to be stored. There are different techniques to store hydrogen. All those techniques have to meet the provisiona...

متن کاملThe Perlite-calcium Alginate-activated Carbon Composite as an Efficient Adsorbent for the Removal of Dyes from Aqueous Solutions
To remove dyes from wastewater, the perlite-calcium alginate–activated carbon (PCA) composite was prepared by a simple method. This composite was characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM, and BET techniques. A high capacity of PCA was observed for the adsorption of some dyes such as methylene blue (MB) and methyl orange (MO) from aqueous solutions (1111 and 909 mg g-1). The best results were achieved at...
